I feel like the author's books in the Torpedo Ink series are veering into graphic sex novels. I understand the genre and understand why explicit sex is part of the environment of a motorcycle club; however, the number of pages devoted to sex scenes is immense...As a reader, I actually became very tired of the graphic scenes in this book. I found myself skipping most of the pages to get to the actual plot (i.e., returning the kidnapped child). I want substance and not merely sex repeated on page after page. I will skip the remainder of the series, which is a shame since I had such hopes after the Drake series, but have been disappointed.Tags : Vengeance Road (Torpedo Ink) on Amazon.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers.,Vengeance Road (Torpedo Ink),Piatkus Books,0349419833

This is the 2nd book in the Torpedo Ink series, and didn't disappointed. We had heartbreak, healing, acceptance, passion as well as vengeance against those that would hurt family belonging to Torpedo Ink MCC.
Steele, while undercover found his woman in Breezy, who's daughter of a new chapter President of the SWORDS. She's experienced abuse during her childhood, and while becoming a young adult. Steele claims her, and provides protection, but must push her away in a cruel manner to save her life, and had her banded from the club for life. Breezy leaves, unaware that she carries, Steele's child. We move forward 3 years, and Breezy must contact Steele, and tell him about their son, Zane to save his life. Breezy's father wants Czar, and Steele killed, and has taken Zane to force Breezy to commit murder. Needless, to say Steele, and his brothers, and sisters head out to New Orleans to save Steele's son. Steele knows he must redeem himself in Breezy's eyes, and has fear that when Breezy finds out his past he'll loose her forever.
I enjoy learning about this interdependent family, and their need for the club life. They know they must stay together to function, and thrive, hoping to find acceptance from the right woman, or man. Czar found "home" with Blythe, Reaper found "acceptance" with Anya, and Steele finds " redemption" with Breezy, and his son Zane.
I read the reviews, yet choose to purchase because it was CF. I have cases of her books in my attic. I did not sell them because they were great books. The last few years, the books have been less. This book - same thoughts, ideas, feelings reiterated ten times in each chapter. Steels childhood abuse, focused on the rape and sexual abuse again and again and again. Obsession with photo porn nauseating. What plot? Did this person even read the previous books? Had to skip 50 consecutive precious pages in one section - how many different phrases can you use to describe the "exact" same "feeling"? Paranormal - nope, romance - nope, plot - nope. If Code read this book he'd ask who wrote this. There are XXX movies out there with more content yet easy to sleep thru. I'm disgusted with this book and pissed I paid for it. CF, if you actually wrote this, switch to sleazy poem flicks and give up literature - period. So, so sad, 20 years of absolute admiration, now my idol sells garbage for a buck.
Not as good as the first. Don’t get me wrong the writing was great lots of in-depth stuff and trauma to the characters. It was very realistic, had real live problems and unfortunately full of evil people.
I just get annoyed by the heroine being wronged and then so strong to just fold the minute she has sex with the hero. I also didn’t like the way the men in this story minimize the woman’s concerns and issues as ”oh she will get over it. “ They want to protect their woman, but don’t seem to really care about their issues or needs(not sexually) only they should do as they say.
The hero was going through some bad stuff and mental issues are something that need to be taking seriously. Unfortunately the main characters turned to just wait it out or feed into it to make it worse instead of getting real help. Many other books have addressed these issues beautifully and this really did not.
I like this storyline it is heartbreaking and very interesting. I can see we have lots of stories to go. However I don’t think that paying $8 a book may be worth it. It’s a good book by a good author but should it be as expensive as it is especially with all the parts it is going to have? I can see if it was a real book with paper and a cover, but wow for an ebook? I know the author is making a living I know I am cheap, but if you want people to read your stuff you should make it more accessible.
Ok off my soap box. I sound snotty. I most likely will read the next one.
I no longer completely read Feehan's books due to sex scenes repetition and lack of consistent good plot lines. No other comment.
The redundancy in her books is ridiculous! I understand to provide info in case a new reader stumbles across the book, without having read the prior books. But it’s constant through out the ENTIRE BOOK! Enough! I wish I could just walk away from this author. I use to love her books. But the last couple of years everything has been predictable and redundant. Sucks when you’re invested in the characters.
I love Christine Feehan's books. But this one is hard for me to like the hero. He's into public sex, photo's of him having sex and telling his women that it's all ok. No way, I don't care how much he explains how he was raised or what turns him on, it turns me off.
That being said if all that doesn't bother you, then have at it. Steel in not my cup of tea, he just turns me off.
I'm obviously getting older. Story line was miniscule; too much time spent on explicit sex. I said I wasn't going to buy any more of her books but I did, hoping it had a better story line. Now I know I'm not going to buy any more of her books.
