The Best of Friends Pocket Readers Guide Susan Mallery 9781416567189 Books Reviews

I was quite shocked to see that I have never reviewed this book, considering I've read it at least half a dozen times. The characters are wonderfully developed and the plot just makes me smile. I hope you enjoy it too.
This is definitely not your typical romance from Susan Mallery.
There is romance but the main core is family relationships.
It shows that even if you are rich family conflicts can happen to them.
Society and social status are a major part of the story and the conflicts that arise when working class girl hooks up with son of wellto do multi millioniare jewelry business family.
Friendships are questioned, marriages are questioned, and social status rears it head in all the mattes.
Excellent story and fun read.
I could not put the book down after I had read Chpater 1.
Very well written book. The true meaning of friends, they are with you through thick and thin. A good sounding board. Another Susan Mallery book that I thoroughly enjoyed
I am a huge fan of Susan Mallery's and this story did not disappoint me. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this (not to mention going through half a box of tissues while doing so). I read this in one day...I could not put it down. Loved Jayne and I loved how this story ended...for all the main characters (NOT gonna spoil the ending)! I'm hoping there will be a sequel someday featuring Rebecca. Thanks Susan for another great story!
I love Susan Mallery. This book was hard to put down. All the characters were well developed and easy to like and/or dislike. I would love for Ms. Mallery to write Rebecca's story. I would like to think that she gets her act together in the end and becomes a more likeable person.
I read the reviews. I agree that it is far from the usual romance. It took an ordinary girl and put her in a situation, where no fault of her own, she was cinderella. She didn't ask for charity, but worked at improving her self, despite the material possessions around her. I like how she learned early on that having things didn't make you happy. She was caught up in the drama and the go between. I like how she connected with David. David was no snob. Neither was his dad. The sister and her best friend was a mess. Had a best friend like that, she was described perfect. The mother, nothing you can say is nice. I liked the end, because it almost didn't work out. I would recommend this book.
Jayne becomes part of the wealthy Worden family when her mother dies when Jayne is in high school. She remains friends with the daughter Rebecca. 10 years later she is a nurse and still the unpaid lapdog for Rebecca and Elizabeth, the mother. A great story of a dysfunctional family, sad at times, fun at times, as Jayne learns to stand up for herself.
