Someone is helping in the investigation without anyone knowing who it is. Why? In the end where O'Brian has to decide to shot him or let him go. Clue driven with a twist or two, the book weaves lies of family murders into treachery and betrayal, leaving one person with the ultimate choice of the law or justice. Awesome book...more twists and turns than a roller coaster ! Loved it. I think anyone that likes a good mystery/suspense story needs to read this !
After the first few pages, which were oddly awkward, the writer seems to find his voice and tells a great story. The characters have a down-home wholesome quality that makes you root for the hero. There is an underlying sweetness to the story, as counterpoint to the murderous military sequences. All in all, a satisfying read, and I look forward to the sequel!
This book is very good. It was interesting and managed to catch my attention and hold it. I did not want to put it aside once I started it. I read a lot of mystery books and usually can figure them out before the end of the book. This book had twists and turns that were unexpected and concealed. I do believe it is more of a man's type book than a woman's but it will appeal to either. I think the writer did a great job of keeping his characters separate while making them believable. Of course, if I am truly honest, I will tell you that I love most everything my children and grandchildren do.
so, so book, didn't hold my interest throughout. Gave it a fair try, and was somewhat disappointed. Will need to read more about this author
