The author did a good job with the premise of enemies to lovers. Vampires did not like witches and witches did not like vampires. Raven, a witch and Nikolaus, a vampire, were enemies and supposed to hate each other. Nikolaus had a good reason to hate Raven. Raven, who is a self proclaimed vampire hunter, tried to kill him and while she failed, she severely injured him. After he recovers he goes to her house to kill her and instead is hit with a love potion.

I loved the sexual chemistry between Raven and Nikolaus. I thought the sex scenes were ok but they needed work. A scene would start to be hot and then be fade to black or go very non-descriptive. I liked Nikolaus nickname for Raven and liked reading about Nikolaus getting his romantic side on in an attempt to woo her. Also I liked reading about Raven softer side, which comes out as she starts to fall in love with Nikolaus. The ending was a HFN as opposed to a HEA. Their son has his own story that I will probably read.

Nikolaus Drake....Vampire and leader of the Kila tribe has just been given the
death cocktail by a witch. When a vampire has contact with the blood of a
witch he normally dies but Nikolaus quickly drinks blood from a friend
and somehow survives. He is now a Phoenix...the most dangerous Vampire
alive. While healing from the cocktail Truvin Stone takes over the
tribe. Now Nikolas is out for revenge and is on the hunt for that witch
and is going to kill her as soon as he finds her. He enters her home to
find her making a spell and when he attacks her the spell falls and now
Nikolas has just put himself under the love spell. Will Nikolas be
smitten forever or will the spell wear off. Who was the love spell meant
for? The Summer Solsice is getting near and Nikolas has planned to
return as the Kila leader then. Truvin finds out that Nikolas has not
killed the witch and he sends a message to Nikolas by burning a cross
into Gabriels chest. Gabriel is helping Nikolas while healing and now he
is dying and Nikolas has only one option to save him...sell his soul to
the Himself....the devil. Now Nikolas must choose...his tribe or the
witch his sweetness.

Ravin Crosse ...Witch and out to kill all vampires. Her family was
killed by vampires and she is personally taking care of there population
one vampire at a time. She has an obligation to Himself ..the devil to
make a love spell and is just finishing it when the vampire attacks her
and the vile breaks and it's all over...Now he thinks he is in love with
her and her feeling are confusing her. She wants her soul back from the
devil but has to make another deal...what will it be? Will the love
spell wear off or will it last forever?

Truvin tracks down Ravin and has some of the tribe capture her and bring
her to there warehouse to burn her. When Nikolas sees her hanging by
ropes above a wood pile he knows it won't end good for the witch. So
when the unexpected wolves show up it's just the distraction he needs to
save her...or does he?

This was my first book by this author and I did enjoy the story. I will
follow up with her other reads and I will suggest this to my reader
friends.
A witch's blood is an almost instantaneous death, but somehow Nikolaus Drake barely survived exposure to that of a witch when she attacked him. Now, he has become the rare vampire who has survived, earning him the name of a Phoenix. Now he's out to find the witch who attacked him.

Ravin Crosse is a witch bent on revenge. After her parents were murdered by vampires, she lives her nights to hunt and kill them--all of them. She has bartered her soul to Satan in order to gain the gift of Sight; now she knows a vampire the moment she sees them. She has three obligations to fill for Himself before her soul is hers again. The first is to craft a love potion. Things go terribly wrong when the potion spills, and Nikolaus draws it into himself with the blood in her veins.

Now, she has a raging vampire who has turned into a passionate love puppy. What in the world is she going to do with him? Regardless of her behavior, he won't take 'no' for an answer, instead just looks adorably confused. The longer she is around him, the more he interests her.

Nikolaus knows he is not behaving rationally. He knew he intended to kill the witch, but now he can't imagine why he would. He loves her, he's sure of it. So why does she keep fighting him off? Hmmm...he thinks she just likes to play at being difficult. Will his real self ever be back in charge? Right now, he doesn't care, he just wants this witch--his witch.

A paranormal romance with a definite twist! The two main protagonists are deadly enemies, but can a love spell end with true love? The side character of Himself is at times both amusing and down right scary. Regardless of other negative reviewers, I had fun reading this. Highly recommended!
