**WARNING** This book will cause you to laugh spontaneously and melt into a puddle on the floor from the sheer sweetness within its pages.
Okay now that we’ve got that warning out of the way, here comes my review!
I read a lot of heavy books and because of that, I search out lighter reads, ones that will take the pressure off my heart and my head and just allow me to get lost in pure unadulterated happiness for awhile and Cassie Mae books always deliver. Only this one isn’t just Cassie Mae, it’s Tessa too and if it’s possible, it makes what was already absolute perfection on the page that much more so.
I had a hard time believing this was a novella to be quite honest. It read like a full length novel, having adorable moments, dramatic moments (RIP Pippi) and laugh out loud funny moment which all join together to give what is possibly the cutest HEA imaginable.
I suppose admitting that there is one of those is a giveaway of sorts, but it’s not because I’m not going to tell you how it happens. I’ll let you experience that wonderfulness for yourself and trust me, if you’re a fan of these authors at all you will not be disappointed.
This is a standalone prequel to what happens in the Bed’s series and while I don’t know how those books play out because I started with this one, if they are anything like this story, I’m going to love them just as much. I’m so glad I came across these authors, this book and the series overall because when I need my daily/weekly/monthly dose of happy, I know for a fact I’ll find it here in these books.
Prepare to cry from the enormous amount of laughing that you’ll do.
If it was possible, I would rate this even more than a 5*. Such a brilliant read and no one writes young adult romance and comedy better!

This was such a fun, cute, and perfect novella. This is a prequel novella to the Beds series. It's told through two character's POVs. Kaylee, an outgoing, funny, sweet, friendly girl, who's best and only friend is her gerbil, Mr. Pippi. Nate, a sweet, caring, cute, nerdy, suspenders wearing kind of guy who is also a magician. Both Kaylee and Nate have caught each other's eyes, and have crushes on each other. However, each of them think they're out of each others leagues. When Nate finally works up enough nerve to ask Kaylee to be his assistant in an upcoming talent show for their high school, it gets the ball rolling for a hilarious, sweet, and fun story that is filled with first loves and magic. This was an unexpected find and I enjoyed this novella so, so, much. I was smiling, laughing, and swooning at almost every page. It was relaxing to see two quirky characters just have fun with each other and fall in love. Of course there was a mishap that happens but they bounce right back without missing a beat. I'm excited to read the next book in the series, King Sized Beds and Happy Trails. I always have at least a few favorite lines from books I read, but this novella was packed with the sweetest lines I've ever read. I usually share one, but I just have to share a few more

I have been waitng for Kaylee and Nate's story! They were just the supporting roles in the Beds Series, but now they are the stars of the show. A magical show, at that;)

Kaylee Sperling is just an average teenage girl. She's fun and bubbly. She can brighten up your day with a smile and a hug. What no one knew, and that she kept hidden, was that she longed to have a true friendship with someone. Someone besides her pet gerbil, Mr. Pippi.

"I'm the puzzle piece that was stuck inside the wrong box, and I hopped out desperately trying to find the box I belong to."

Who knew that that friend would be someone who likes to play tricks on people? Magic tricks, that is.

Nate Hatfield. He is the epitome of adorable! With his dark hair, bow ties, suspenders and deck of cards, he was everything Kaylee never knew she needed. What Kaylee didn't know was that Nate had been captivated by her the moment he first saw her cute blonde braids in the school hallway.

"How are you so perfect?" ~Kaylee
"Im far from it." ~Nate
"In my eyes you can't get any closer." ~Kaylee

Nate finally gets up the nerve to ask for Kaylee's assistance in the talent show. It doesn't take long before the sparks are truly flying. It was like a 52 card pickup going on in their bellies! (Did you see what I did there? hehe)

"Okay, now I'm distracted. I find nervous Nate completely adorable, but confident Nate is downright hawt."

I love these two!!! They are so adorkably cute!! Who knew magic was so, well, magical?! Not only does Nate finally break out of his shell a bit, but Kaylee finally found a true friend in not only Nate, but in his best friends Lexie and Ryan. Kaylee was just what they needed to change their triangle into a square.

I'm so glad this book was written! If you loved Kaylee and Nate in the other Beds Series books, you will fall more in love after this one! I really wanted play with Nate's fedora throughout this entire book. Haha! Yeah, I might have a slight crush on him. How could I not?! He's a hawt magician, right?!;) Kaylee's so lucky!!
