I got the book thinking the story sounded so good. The pastor who marries his sister in law and they end up falling in love. The story was so sweet but then, bang, it went into unbelievable detail sexually. I like to read books that do not have sexually explicit scenes but instead have a good story. This story was so good but then it went into very detailed sexual scenes. The details to me were so unnecessary and I wish I could have just read the story without having to skip and dissect my way through it. The author is good but I really don't need to see every detail from their sex life to enjoy the book. Disappointing that this stuff was added to a real quality story. The spiritual part of the story was lost while I had to visually picture their intense love-making.

I liked this author's good plots. She not only writes love stories but they have surprising plots. Some of the sermons brought tears to my eyes and made me look at myself in a more searching way.
I really enjoyed this book. It moved along with enough variety of happenings to make it interesting. And yes I would gladly read more Ruth Ann Nordin books.
Eliza's son takes center stage in this novel...
When the story opens. Jeremy is the town pastor a widower. Jane Syas is the overworked sister of Will Syas. Will is a dreamer, and into get rich schemes to the point his sister is the unpaid, overworked maid, cook and nanny.
When Will 'sells' Jane to a man she can stand, Jeremy her brother-in-law (and preacher) steps in with a proposal of marriage, For the first time Jane gets a reprive from the cooking, cleaning, and child care. She also gets several rude awakings when she finds out her brother and his wife took all the credit for last years holiday gathering. She does gain some satisfaction when her nephew in tells her mother is complaining how muuch work she has to do.
Jeremy has unaswered questions of his own, which Jane encorages him to seek out..
A little different take on a romance. Seemed like there should be a bit more character definition & development but overall a decent read. A few moments that even made me snicker ;) For those who like to know there's one scene of limited sex content between a married couple.
I really enjoyed the book from start to finish. I thought the characters were very well-developed and the author took time to develop the relationship between the couple. I really liked that both of the characters narrated part of the story. The ending is perfect for their story.
I finished "Bride of Second Chances" and loved it. Ruth Ann Nordin, the author, left no doubt in my mind that Jeremy and Jane were meant to fall in love and be together. I love the way she showed their love developing, without rushing or pushing the characters into falling in love. She let them work it out themselves and fall in love slowly, foreshadowing a love that will last a lifetime. I think that's one of the secrets of her success. Her stories grab us and hold us as they unfold on the page (like a movie on the screen) and capture our hearts.

I had read the first two books of this historical South Dakota series, "Loving Eliza" and "Bid for a Bride" (stand alone novels) and found them riveting Five Star wonderful reads that held my interest and touched my heart.

The Love Stories that Ruth Ann Nordin composes are not easily forgotten! I look forward to all her upcoming books with equal pleasure.
A young girl who had just turned thirteen was abused by her Uncle who got her with Child and sold her to a brothel where she had to work as a prostitute until she ran away. A Preacher found her and got her life back on track. A must read for those who enjoy historical western romance kindle books from at a special price and from a delightful author who keeps me entertained throughout the entire book before putting it down.
